Field Operations Director
Employment type: Full-time

The Field Operations Manager oversees and directs approximately 25 personnel for the installation of plumbing from ground to final finish; plumbing renovations; and service calls (including emergency services).  The Field Operations Manager must be able to manage projects from conception to completion; review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and help estimate costs; oversee all onsite and offsite construction (pre-fab) operations; monitor compliance with building, codes, transportation, and environmental, and safety regulations. This position requires a self-motivated proactive thinker who shows attention to detail as well as ability to manage field crews spread over a dispersed geographic area in an effective and efficient manner.

The Field Operations Manager must be able to communicate effectively through verbal and written means and coordinate daily and weekly milestones with South Shore Plumbing ownership, management and administrative staff. The Field Operations Manager is highly visible and must demonstrate ethical conduct and leadership through actions and deeds to all personnel. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Effectively contribute to meetings, activities, innovation, and ideas advancing profit opportunities for South Shore Plumbing

  • Effectively communicate and respond to South Shore staff during project capture efforts

  • Comprehend, communicate and coordinate during project turnover/conversion meetings

  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs

  • Ability to coordinate and schedule potential start up needs with General Contractor field leadership; such 
    as temporary power requirements, demolition, grounding and bonding, startup meetings, and remote interviews 
    for potential candidates

  • Meet contractual conditions of performance

  • Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion

  • Comprehend project scope; interpret scope change requests and initiate change orders as appropriate

  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors

  • Review the work progress on daily basis

  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status including cut sheets and submittals

  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues - analyze and mitigate risks

  • Guide and assist employees in identifying, analyzing and resolving existing or anticipated obstacles to meet task and project schedules

  • Monitor all resource consumption (including labor) by project stage or phase; manage resources within and between stages and phases resulting in delivering projects on-time and within agreed budget

  • Ensure quality construction standards; use of proper construction techniques; stay aware of new technology and techniques and implement them when appropriate

    a drug screening

  • Valid Driver’s License 

  • Maintain a professional relationship with the general contractor, engineers, and inspectors to facilitate
    job progress and to promote a positive company image
